A Hit of Vengeance

A short narrative film following a young man as he stumbles into a naive quest to avenge his deceased brother.

My Role: Director of Photography

Storyboards

Throughout the process of planning this film, a few scenes were cut out and scheduling changed drastically due to factors outside of our control. We went through a few different iterations of some scenes, and I wanted to try a different way of storyboarding than I was used to. So, I drew out each frame, decided what focal length it should be with the director, Jon Peterson, and what movement and lighting it should have.

The Process

During the planning of this project, we set out to create two different worlds: the regular world, and the world of the hitman’s house. We leaned into natural lighting or assisted natural lighting for most of the world before the hitman’s house, and then moved into a moody green and orange feel for everything during and after it.
