Lighting Plans
To fit in with the theme of the film, we decided to go with green lighting to explore the character. Our goal was to increase the amount of green light as the film progressed, which meant being specific about the kinds of gels that were used and what value of light was being pushed into the scene.
Additionally, we decided to go with a looser shot list, which allowed us to adapt slightly easier to what the scene and the actors lent themselves to.
The Process
For this narrative project, the Director, Josh Ridings, communicated that he wanted to explore the character’s mental state with color in lighting. This was one of the first projects in which I specifically targeted color in the frame, and it provided a fun challenge.
